Dwight Seoul's Spark of Genius Spans Globally with 2017 University Acceptances

SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA, APRIL 19, 2017 - The Dwight School Seoul graduating Class of 2017 secured acceptances to over 85 prestigious universities worldwide. Among the list, four distinguished Ivy League schools in the United States of America; Columbia University, Brown University, Cornell University and the University of Pennsylvania.

Thirty-six Dwight scholars applied to universities across the USA, Europe, Asia, and Canada. According to the 2017 rankings of global Universities by Times Higher Education, Dwight students have also achieved acceptances to highly-ranked globally recognized institutions including University of California, Berkeley (10), University College London (15), and University of Toronto (22).

Dwight School Seoul is an International Baccalaureate World School authorized across all three programmes; PYP, MYP and DP. The International Baccalaureate is academically rigorous integrating student wellbeing, service and critical thinking. The IB nurtures the whole child and better prepares students for university life.

Our Dwight University College Counsellors work with students individually over the course of several years to introduce, identify and open their eyes to the world of opportunity that is the International Baccalaureate.

"The University College Counseling department provides student-centered planning with a global view of post high school options," says University College Counselor Mary Kay McCaffery. "Every student is unique. University College Counselling at Dwight is personalized through regularly scheduled individual meetings with students, allowing us to fully understand each student's spark, passion and interest. This enables us to introduce students to universities and colleges that meet the student's goals and aspirations. As they make that important step into university life, students will build on what was accomplished with the IB at Dwight, continuing to grow in all aspects of their lives; academically, socially and emotionally."

"This year's grade 12 university acceptances are a testament to the hard work and determination each of our seniors played in securing their very best," said founding Head of School, Mr. Kevin Skeoch. "Great schools carry a buzz about them and Dwight is humming to the sound of success once again."

The International Baccalaureate plays an important role in creating honest, independent, knowledgeable and internationally minded students. When in partnership with a leading international school, such as Dwight School Seoul, the IB is powerful. Commenting on past successes, Mr. Skeoch said, "being admitted to an Ivy League university is a success standard in international education. Dwight has set the stage for current and future success."

Dwight School Seoul's exponential growth over five years boasts 400 students across 30 nationalities among its multicultural community. Each year, we watch students become global leaders, accomplishing the IB DP, crossing borders to attend top universities and finally igniting the world with their spark of genius.
