Spark of Genius Center

Inquiry is central to the IB philosophy, and our newly renovated library, Spark of Genius Center, is a place where
asking questions is actively encouraged, leading students to deepen their
knowledge by researching our many databases, books and other resources.

The library promotes information literacy throughout the school by supporting students and faculty in the use of informational resources, personalized learning in the classroom and by empowering independent learning at every stage of education.

The Library is also a place where reading is cherished and stories are celebrated. We promote a love of reading and a knowledge of literature past and present during Book Week each year.

Celebrating the UN’s Mother Language Day in the Library demonstrates the importance of continued learning of a first language.

Our Lower School SPARK program, Author & Illustrator appreciation studies and the extracurricular program, Reading Rocks, encourage
students to discover their creative side.

Students in grades 6-12 frequently support the library though their Community Action and CAS programs.

As a central part of school life, the library is open for students and faculty to use throughout the school day for reading and study.

Our collection totals over 16,000 books, including a wide variety of fiction and non-fiction in English, Korean, Mandarin, Japanese, German, Spanish and French. We also subscribe to a variety of magazine publications.

We encourage students to take responsibility for maintaining and promoting the library through the Student Librarians program.

Members of the community are welcome to join in the monthly Book Club that meets or volunteer in the library.
